"The sexual objectification of women", a phrase that when heard or used, would fluster almost all women and evoke a series of dark images from all through human history. Therefore, contemplating fi it's men that look at women with this objectifying gaze or do the not-so-confident women present themselves as an object to people and the media, would reduce the heaviness of this phrase.
